Join Moonstruck Maiden in welcoming Jaki and Oracle of Jahara Phoenix Dance Company to the St. Croix Falls Area.

There will be three "Gathering of Sisters" to be attended:

10 am - 12pm
ATS Fundementals: Explore the fundamentals of American Tribal Style Bellydance as created by Carolena Nerricio of FatChanceBellyDance with Jaki of the Jahara Phoenix Dance Company. Gain a solid understanding of group dynamics, cues, improvisation, and teamwork. Through this workshop Jahara Phoenix will share their passion for ATS and why it is a true dance of sisterhood. $10 emolument pre-registered/$20 at the door 

1pm - 3 pm
From ATS we will move into Fancy Footwork and Spectacular Spins. Want to add precision, grace, and fluidity to your spins? A greater sense of meaning and style to your footwork? The experience and enthusiasm of the Jahara Phoenix Dance Company can help you! Solid, purposeful footwork is essential in all styles of dance. By using certain ATS combos Oracle will open up your understanding of dynamic staging, and help improve your speed and agility on the dance floor. Learning how to spin with confidence can be a daunting task. Spectacular Spins will develop your spin vocabulary and give you the tools needed to improve your turning technique. $10 emolument pre-registered/$20 at the door

3:15 pm - 5:15 pm And finally, as bellydancers, we are blessed with the availability of various props. The trick is learning how to use them as organic extensions of our dancing selves, and not mere inanimate additions. The Jahara Phoenix Dance Company can draw on years of experience with props to help you master these elegant "dance partners" and add a new level of expression to your movement. Sensual swordwork is sure to excite your audience, as engaging an addition to your performance as any. In this class, participants will learn how to build suspense and manage your sword as a dance partner, not a prop. $10 emolument pre-registered/$20 at the door

Performances by Jahara Phoenix Dance Company and local/regional dancers. Open to the public. $5

Location:  Bergmann's Country Junction, located 3 miles north of Hwy 8 on Hwy 35, left hand side.  The building sits back off the road.  Watch for signs.
